Easing the transition

As we look ahead at the opening of "The Academy" for the 2009 - 2010 school year, a key to success will be building relationships to ease the transition. We have already begun working in that direction. Teachers have been meeting for the past two years for vertical articulation. Our principal has been hosting "Grillin & Chillin" for our dining pleasures on school improvement days. This has led to the discovery of many incredible cooks and requests for recipe exchanges among staff. Mary from the Primary Academy has taken upon herself the development of an Academy cookbook. Input from all is encouraged as we incorporate quality tools to help us develop our vision, mission, goals and needs for professional development to assist the students in becoming proficient readers, writers, and mathmeticians. What other ways can we be working to develop a quality team of professionals who foster a positive climate and culture beginning with ourselves?
